Vintage Design
Splendid cherrywood writing desk with kneehole from the late 18th century in Austria, circa 1790. This over 220 year old writing desk from the so-called “Josephinism” era, a period named after Emperor Joseph II., impresses with an outstanding design. Fine cherrywood veneer was set in a great manner and specially emphasized by inlayed ebonized fruitwood frames all over the desk. Whereby these are additionally embellished with inlayed brand painted flowers in each corner. This elaborate made antique writing desk offers one large (looking like three) and four smaller drawers which are adorned by lovely brass fittings.
